Harry Styles Friend Emma Ostilly Quits Twitter After One Direction Fans’ Abuse

Emma Ostilly, the model spotted kissing Harry Styles of One Direction, has shut down her Twitter account in the wake of abuse and threats from fans of the hugely popular boy band.

Ostilly appeared in One Direction’s video for “Gotta Be You” last year and became friendly with Styles, but after paparazzi caught the two getting cozy in New Zealand last week, Ostilly was subjected to a flood of online venom.

While there’s been no indication that she and Styles are actually dating, jealous fans have vented on social media, starting Facebook groups such as “Anti-Emma Ostilly” and “I Hate Emma Ostilly.”

Some of the messages are particularly brutal, calling Ostilly a “b**ch whore” and saying she deserves to die.

The hostility isn’t a first for Styles fans.

British TV personality Caroline Flack was forced to address threats last year when she was linked romantically to the One Direction heartthrob.

 

Meanwhile, Styles’ bandmate, Louis Tomlinson, tweeted his own frustration on Saturday with fans who sent his current girlfriend (Eleanor Calder) photos of a previous flame.

“Truth of the matter is its actually not funny in the slightest,” he wrote to a follower. “I’m reading through some horrible tweets very pissed off!”

For those of you who missed the weekend’s big One Direction news, Harry Styles was spotted getting cosy with American model Emma Ostilly in New Zealand and now she’s deleted her Twitter account because of all the hoo-ha.

So, just to get you up-to-date, Harry and Emma met on the Gotta Be You music video and apparently kept in touch ever since.

Then, the minute Harry landed in New Zealand (where Emma now lives) he apparently got in contact with her as soon as they arrived in Auckland.

The pair were then spotted getting close last Thursday and Friday night.

 

After all that, the latest news is that Emma has deleted her Twitter account because of all the hate One Direction fans were giving her.

We’re starting to see a bit of a theme developing.

According to the Metro, Emma was sent a whole heap of abuse through Twitter and there were even Facebook pages set up against her.

 

Is it just us or is anyone else slightly worried that the lads won’t be able to have a girlfriend because a stream of abuse will send her running for the hills?

The model that Harry Styles was snapped snogging has been forced to quit Twitter after being victimised by angry (and somewhat unstable) One Direction fans.

Pictures of Emma Ostilly sharing a good smooch with the singer emerged yesterday, after the pair went on a romantic date in New Zealand last week.

 

While most of us went ‘ahhh’ and felt a bit old after staring at the photos, a minority of 1D fans completely lost it and went nuts on Twitter.

Having located the gorgeous blonde on Twitter (her name on the site is @emmaostilly, so it wasn’t too strenuous), they proceeded to bombard her with abuse and threats until she gave up and left the site. We’re not surprised – on top of death threats, Emma was labelled a ‘prostitute’ and one bizarre fan wrote the tweet ‘I hate you, you are a f*****g b****h :)’ 60 times. Seriously, she counted them down and everything.

 Before she deleted her account, Emma tweeted a picture of herself and Harry, along with the caption: ‘'Dinnnaa with harry styles’.

The pair met when Emma starred in the 1D video for Gotta Be You in her hometown of New York last year.

Emma has since moved to New Zealand and, despite his STI concerns (no, really) - Harry went to see her as soon as he arrived in her new town Auckland on Thursday.

The 18 year olds enjoyed a night out on the town before having a big snog on her doorstep at 1.20am.

 And on Saturday night, Emma was sighted sneaking into the boyband’s hotel after a One Direction gig.

An onlooker who saw Harry and Emma in one of the city’s bars said: “They really seemed to have a ­connection and only had eyes for each other.

 

“They seemed very happy and relaxed and you could tell they have a history together.”

Let’s hope Emma is still channelling that relaxed vibe this morning. Oh and, whatever you do, don’t check Facebook.
